(I-SoftwareNews.Com, December 05, 2012 ) SAN DIEGO, CA -- The Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA), the leading association for today’s technology services organizations, announced that former Avaya executive George Humphrey has joined the TSIA team and will head the organization’s new Managed Services research practice. TSIA’s research practices, or “service disciplines”—Education Services, Field Services, Professional Services, Service Revenue Generation, Support Services and, now, Managed Services—are the driving forces of today’s technology services industry.
Humphrey will have several initial areas of focus, including leading the formation of the TSIA Managed Services advisory board, identifying the top service business challenges in Managed Services for research focus, development of the 2013 Managed Services research agenda, and working closely with the founding members and the advisory board to develop the Managed Services Benchmark Survey.
Humphrey has an extensive background in the Managed Services arena. He was previously with Avaya, where he was recognized two years in a row as one of Avaya’s top four thought leaders. He has held several leadership positions in Managed Services, including global strategy, product line management, marketing, operations, and client management. Before building up Avaya’s managed services business, he was recognized as one of Avaya’s most successful product managers, with numerous industry groundbreaking product launches, including Avaya Communication Manager—one of the first fully IP-enabled enterprise communications solutions.
Humphrey holds seven global patents in communications technologies, as well as numerous industry certifications and accreditations. He has authored many white papers on Managed Services and IT infrastructure management. He also frequently speaks as a technology and services expert at industry conferences and seminars.
“We are very pleased to have George join our TSIA team in this key role,” said Thomas Lah, TSIA executive director. “Managed Services is a key growth area for many technology services organizations, and the demand for focused research and benchmarks is tremendous. George’s extensive background in the Managed Services arena will help to bring TSIA’s initiatives in this area to the forefront of the industry. We look forward to working with him and are confident that his thought leadership in this area will serve great purpose within the TSIA community.”
