The free website building software has been available on the web since 2006, and has since then attracted nearly 4 million users worldwide. With its drag and drop interface and free web design elements, Wix makes it easy for users to customize a Flash template, or design a site from scratch.
The software is extremely popular among photographers, and there are dozens of free photography website templates to choose from at Wix. Users Users can customize the design elements of these templates including photo galleries, menus, colors, comment forms, shopping carts and more. The new Wix Photography Blog helps photographers power up their portfolios. On the Wix Photography Blog, users can submit their photography websites for review by professional designers, and receive expert feedback on their sites' structure and layout. Wix users can also submit work for the blog's "Photo of the Day" category, and have their work featured on the blog itself. Weekly "Photographer Zoom" posts include a brief bio of a featured Wix photographer, in the form of a questionnaire modeled after the Inside the Actors Studio series. Links to the featured sites will also be included in these posts.
Blog comments allow members to exchange ideas, share knowledge and expertise, gain inspiration and socialize with like-minded Wix users. The links provided to featured artists' sites are valuable promotional tools.
