(EMAILWIRE.COM, October 18, 2010 ) LAS VEGAS, NV – Technology Services World 2010 Las Vegas opened today to an unprecedented number of services professionals from around the globe. The day-one program featured three powerful keynote sessions, five game-changing professional development courses, and a Technology Services Expo that also broke Association records as the largest to date.
In a follow-up to his keynote presentation at TSW Silicon Valley last spring on the emerging cloud computing model, TSIA executive director Thomas Lah kicked off TSW Las Vegas with “Picking Up the Pieces,” which focused on how companies can successfully navigate this next model of technology consumption.
Next up was Compuware’s vice president, technology services, Shawn Washburn and NeoChange founder and CEO Chris Dowse, who provided a roadmap for redefining customer relationships by helping customers extract greater returns from their software investments in “Closing the Consumption Gap: Professional Services Powered by End-User Monitoring as a Sure-Fire Strategy for Customer Adoption.”
Monday’s keynotes wrapped up with Mike Swinford, vice president and general manager, Americas services, for GE Healthcare, who gave the audience a look at GE Healthcare Solutions’ bold and sweeping transformation of its service business in “A Service Transformation Journey: How Solutions Complement a Traditional Service-Delivery Model.”
In addition to the keynote sessions, five pre-conference professional development courses were held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. with presenters from DG Associates, Pretium Partners, DB Kay & Associates, Call Center Group, and Sigma Performance Solutions.
At the close of the day, delegates were welcomed into the Technology Services Expo for an opening reception from 5-7 p.m., where they had a chance to network and talk with some of todayÂ’s leading technology solutions providers.
