(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 10, 2012 ) Rocky River, OH -- Listener Driven Radio continues its worldwide expansion, announcing the sign-on of six major international stations and networks as well as a number of market-leading USA based broadcasters.
Thailand's leading broadcaster, BEC-Tero, the LDR.1 platform on Bangkok's Virgin Hitz and Eazy FM 105.5. Although LDR affiliate stations are not required to use the "LDR" brand name (the LDR platform is white-labelled for stations, so they can brand it however they like), both BEC-Tero stations have branded their new interactive features as "Listener Driven Radio."
Highveld Stereo in Johannesburg, South Africa (http://www.highveld.co.za) and KFM in Capetown, South Africa (http://www.kfm.co.za) have also signed on with the LDR.1 platform, empowering listeners to vote on songs, sign up for alerts when their favorites play, and share their votes on Facebook.
New LDR sign-ons this month also include Virgin Radio Calgary (http://calgary.virginradio.ca) and Virgin Radio Edmonton (http://edmonton.virginradio.ca), where they've launched a new night show called VIRGIN RADIO TAKEOVER, hosted by Danny Kidd. Already the new interactive night show is drawing substantial audience participation and social reach using the LDR.Takeover platform.
New US-based sign-ons this Spring include heritage Baltimore Rocker 98 Rock (http://www.98online.com) WIYY-FM. The station is branding their use of the LDR.1 platform as "98 Rock's Mobcast," empowering listeners to "occupy" the radio station. Listeners can also get SMS and e-mail alerts whenever their favorite songs play.
Clear Channel Midwest powerhouses WAEB-FM (http://www.b104.com) and WZZO-FM (http://www.951zzo.com) in Allentown and WRVV-FM (http://www.river973.com) and WHKF-FM (http://www.993kissfm.com) in Harrisburg also signed on with LDR using the company's LDR.1 platform.
