(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 16, 2008 ) Colorado Springs, CO - Intelligent Software Solutions has been awarded a task to support the deployment of their multi-intelligence fusion system known as “Predictive Awareness and Network-centric Analysis for Collaborative Intelligence Assessment” or PANACIA, to Air Force Distributed Ground Station sites around the world. The deployment will support Air Combat Command’s vision of distributed intelligence analysis.
PANACIA is a unique multi-intelligence information fusion and reasoning enterprise built on the latest in Service Oriented Architecture design principles. The system effectively integrates multiple intelligence data types into a single fused view of the battlespace. This automation allows analysts to focus on the most important facets of the fused data, without having to cull through the massive volumes of raw information they otherwise would need to. This approach also dramatically decreases the amount of time required to make this information actionable and available to military decision makers.
ISS was initially awarded the PANACIA prime contract by the Air Force Research Laboratory in 2005 and since then has successfully built, demonstrated, and integrated the technology into multiple operational settings. Through participation in experimentation such as Joint Expeditionary Forces Experiment 2006 and Red Flag 2007/02, ISS engineers working in concert with government analysts were able to refine the PANACIA system to meet current operational requirements. This led to the decision in mid 2007 to field the system to the 480th Intelligence Wing and Distributed Ground Station 1 (DGS-1) at Langley AFB in Hampton Virginia. Subsequent successful use and experimentation with the system by DGS-1 has led to it being chosen for deployment to the remainder of the DGS sites.
ISS will deploy the system to each of the remaining sites worldwide over the coming year. This work will include integration into the existing system configuration at each site as well as integrating additional mission and site-specific data sources. ISS will also expand its on site support to the system at the Langley AFB location.
According to Dennis Linn, Sr. Vice President for Intelligence Systems at ISS, “This further deployment of our technology highlights the operational viability and operator acceptance of our software. It is always exciting to see technology taken from the lab to the field in a minimal amount of time. ISS prides ourselves on leading the way in achieving this goal in the DoD.”
