(I-SoftwareNews.Com, December 23, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA -- Niagara area new-vehicle sales have jumped up 7.8% in the month of November from a year ago. The numbers indicate that sales are on track to finish ahead of the 2011 totals.
The Niagara Frontier Automobile Dealers Association reported that just under 4,000 units were sold in November. Last year the same month saw 3,689 new models sold. The figure does not include Chevrolet, as the company does not disclose monthly local numbers.
In the months leading up to November, area dealers were able to unload 48,240 new units, which was a 3.5% rise from the 11-month span of 2011.
Ford sales were at 916 units tallied. Its own numbers were down 6% from last year. The ford totals were followed by Toyota, Honda, and Nissan, respectively.
Frank Downing Jr. of Towne Automotive Group stated that his dealer group saw sales move upward within the region around the same time last year. Increases at the dealership were helped mightily by year-end pushes as well as quality lease offerings by the automakers, according to Downing. He added that certain segments like BMW and Ford trucks mad particularly strong pushes.
BMW's sales were up locally by 14% from 2011, and the automaker's U.S. sales rose by another the same tally nationwide.
Downing also stated that December was looking strong as well, with an 8% increase from a year ago.
Co-Owner of Northtown Automotive stated that Hyundai and Subaru added new products to their lineup, which boosted the respective numbers for the companies. “Hyundai has finally got some inventory,” Schreiber said. “They’ve had new product, but we haven’t had it in great abundance [before].”
Despite all the positive numbering, the month of November is still objectively the second lowest of the year. Only January shows lower numbers. November totals were among the lowest in the previous three years as well. U.S. Auto sales did rise 15% in November, according to Automotive News. But Experts say numbers were simply bolstered by deals made in October, as well as Hurricane Sandy.
