  • SamsungÂ’s Upcoming Release May Include Wireless Charging reports Xnas

    (I-SoftwareNews.Com, January 25, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- There are plenty of rumors surrounding the Samsung's unofficial Galaxy S IV. The latest from the rumor-mill is that the phone will support wireless charging.

    Android Authority has reported through Korean news site DDaily, that Samsung's Galaxy S IV will in fact feature support for a wireless charging base that the Qi will have standard via Wireless Power Consortium. Thus far, only the Nexus 4 is compatible with the Qi wireless charger, though the orb for the smartphone is still not of commercial availability.

    The report has stated that Samsung plans on using alternate technology based on resonant magnetic coupling. It further notes that the Galaxy S IV is not integrated with wireless charging, but will sell a charger and backplate separately.

    The noted use of the resonant magnet coupling appears to be that it can allow the GSIV to be charged from a distance of two meters. As of now, having wireless charting support requires the device to be 4 centimeters away from the charging pad.

    DDaily made a point to state that Samsung will reportedly develop a wireless charger that is based on magnetic resonance; however, currently the company stands by the thought that it is too expensive in in regards to creation and testing for the current models.

    There is no official detail list on the wireless charging accessories; nor is there any official word on Samsung plans to unveil the GSIV.

    The other rumored specifications for the device are the 4.99-inch Super AMOLED display with full-HD, and pixel density of 441ppi.

    There is also likely to be a 13-megapixel rear auto-focus camera, while the body is said to be 9.22mm body. That is slightly thicker than previously believed. Rumors are that it will be running the Jelly Bean OS, and likely to use the company's latest Exynos 5 Octa eight-core processor that was unveiled at the CES.
