(I-SoftwareNews.Com, May 29, 2013 ) SAN DIEGO, CA -- The Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA), the leading association for today’s technology services organizations, announced that its Managed Services discipline has grown to include 20 founding-member organizations. The milestone marks the official establishment of the Managed Services discipline within TSIA. The formation of the discipline was originally announced in October 2012 at TSIA’s Technology Services World (TSW) Service Transformations conference in Las Vegas.
TSIA’s research practices, or “service disciplines”—Education Services, Field Services, Managed Services, Professional Services, Service Revenue Generation, and Support Services—are the driving forces of today’s technology services industry.
Former Avaya exec George Humphrey heads up the new Managed Services research practice. Humphrey has several areas of focus in his current role, including leading the formation of the TSIA Managed Services advisory board, identifying the top service business challenges in Managed Services for research focus, carrying out the 2013 Managed Services research agenda, and working closely with the founding members and the advisory board to develop the Managed Services Benchmark Survey.
“This is a great achievement for TSIA and the founding members of the Managed Services discipline,” said Humphrey. “As managed services becomes an increasingly more important strategic revenue line, it’s critical to bring managed services to the forefront of the business environment.
