(EMAILWIRE.COM, October 21, 2009 ) SAN DIEGO, CA – October 21, 2009 – The Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA) today announced that Dick Ruijsenberg, founder and director, I.S.O. Service Group B.V., has been named winner of the prestigious 2009 George O. Harmon Award.
The George O. Harmon Award honors individuals in the customer services and support industry who have made significant contributions to their company, the industry, and the association. The award is named for George O. Harmon, who played a major role in the formation of AFSMI, one of the three associations (together with with SSPA and TPSA) that have merged together to form TSIA. News of this major merger was announced two days ago at Technology Services World (www.technologyservicesworld.com) in Las Vegas, the associationÂ’s annual fall conference. Ruijsenberg was one of many who were honored during the awards ceremony and luncheon held at the event.
Ruijsenberg was honored for his active role within AFSMI and his support of and dedication to the services industry. He has served as an AFSMI Advisory Board member and for the past two and a half years had played a very active role as president of AFSMIÂ’s EMEA Chapter Board.
“This award recognizes individuals who have earned the respect of their peers through outstanding leadership and professionalism,” said J.B. Wood, president and CEO of TSIA. “With Dick’s guidance, the AFSMI chapters have flourished on both a regional and global basis over the past year. Ruijsenberg has a long career history in the services arena, having held senior-level positions with Ajax de Boer B.V., Océ van der Grinten, Canon Business Machines Nederland B.V., HCS Service Group, and M.S.O.
Ruijsenberg joins an impressive list of seasoned services veterans who have won the George O. Harmon Award over recent years, including Bill Steenburgh, Tom Schlick, Dick Guenther, Bob Yopko, Reinhard Klein, Edina Soboleski, Sid Saleh, Kevin Wheatland, and Shuya Takaku.
