(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 30, 2010 ) SAN DIEGO, CA, March 29, 2010 – The Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA), the leading professional association of the technology services industry, announced that Women in Services—TSIA’s dedicated group for women services leaders—has selected Dress for Success San Diego as its official charity for the second year in a row. Dress for Success San Diego is dedicated to improving the lives of women through its professional clothing and employment retention programs as well as ongoing support provided to clients.
Women in Services events benefitting Dress for for Success San Diego will be conducted as part of TSIA’s Technology Services World (TSW) conference being held May 3-5 in Silicon Valley. The conference theme is “Clouds on the Service Horizon.”
April Kelly, senior director of customer operations at LinkedIn, will keynote the Women in Services networking dinner. Kelly specializes in cultivating high-performance, customer-centric teams in the areas of customer service, account management, sales, and quality assurance. A portion of the dinner ticket price will be donated to Dress for Success San Diego. A raffle benefitting the charity also will be held. Generous prize donations have been offered by industry-leading organizations and include a Microsoft Xbox 360, Plantronics Bluetooth headsets, designer computer tote bags, designer briefcases, registration and accommodations for Technology Services World Las Vegas, and more.
“We are honored to have chosen Dress for Success San Diego again this year as our designated charity, following on the success we saw with them at our 2009 TSW event in Las Vegas,” said Diane Brundage, senior vice president of membership development for TSIA. “Our Women in Services group shares Dress for Success’ commitment to helping women succeed both professionally and personally. The funds raised at TSW will help dozens of women prepare for job interviews and gain assistance in career planning.”
Women in Services was created to provide a unique and dedicated forum for professional members of TSIA. The Women in Services steering committee includes senior executives from globally recognized industry leaders Approva, BMC Software, Cisco Systems, Digital Hands, EMC Global Services, Exigen ELITE, Hewlett-Packard, Hitachi Data Systems, Informatica, Intergraph, NCR, Oracle, rL Solutions, salesforce.com, Sun Microsystems, Symantec, and Xerox.
Additional Women in Services events at TSW 2010 Silicon Valley include two breakout sessions: “Women in Services: Profiles of Success,” a high-powered panel of women service leaders who will share their career paths, key decisions, and learnings that helped shape them as professionals; and “Professional Development: Mentoring for Professional and Business Development,” featuring a panel of member companies and mentoring consultants who will discuss the keys to successful mentoring programs that impact not only the professional, but the business as well.
