mimacom and Activiti (Alfresco) combine their workflow activities

(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 06, 2010 ) LONDON, UK - In its endeavor to promote open source technology, mimacom has found another partner. The result of the combination of mimacom's edoras Workflow and Alfresco's Activiti is a process engine that will impress with its technological edge and ease-of-use.

Over the few past years, mimacom has been developing a workflow system based on edoras Workflow and introducing it to customers with great success. The focus has always been on the user-centered approach with a technologically lightweight, integrated process engine. With the latest version 2.0 of the workflow workflow system, mimacom has forged highly innovative new paths, which will be enhanced through the collaboration with Activiti.

Activiti is an open source business process management (BPM) initiative that was launched by Alfresco. Activiti is based on the same technological approach as the lightweight process virtual machine by edoras. The integration of edoras Workflow into Activiti merges the best approaches of both engines, which will in future be developed jointly between by Activiti and mimacom.

mimacom not only brings edoras Workflow Core into this collaboration, but also its many years of practical experience in implementing workflow systems in medium-sized and large enterprises. An enterprise edition of the workflow system, based on the open source prod-uct Activiti and in close cooperation with many of its customers, will be launched in the coming months.
