(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 14, 2009 ) London, UK. – May 14, 2009 – Alfresco Software Inc., the leader in open source enterprise content management (ECM), today announced a partnership with AEGIF, a leading Japanese enterprise content management services company. By partnering with AEGIF, Japanese customers and partners will now be able to leverage the same Alfresco Enterprise Subscription-based services that hundreds of companies across the Americas and Europe have come to rely on for production support and will also be able to receive localized consulting and training services.
A global company from its inception Alfresco has grown its community to include 182 countries and customers in more than 43 nations. The partnership is further evidence of a global market shift towards the adoption of professionally-supported open source ECM solutions, which provide a low-cost, low-risk alternative to proprietary ECM systems.
“The Japanese market is increasingly looking to open source solutions and Alfresco is proud to be working with a number of high profile Japanese corporations with significant Alfresco deployments. We are investing in and expanding the range of services to address the increasing demand in this key region,” said John Powell, CEO, Alfresco Software. “By working with AEGIF, we can now extend Alfresco Enterprise Subscriptions to Japanese customers who are recognizing the benefits of moving away from more costly and cumbersome proprietary solutions and dramatically lowering the total cost of ECM ownership through Alfresco’s open source solution.”
AEGIF maintains a focus on providing ECM-related consulting and services, and through its longstanding relationship with Alfresco, has already invested in the translation of Alfresco software, documentation and training materials.
“As the demand for an open source ECM alternative in Japan continues to grow, we see an increase in the number of Japanese corporations turning to Alfresco Enterprise,” said Akinori Ishii, CTO, AEGIF. “This initiative to deliver localized support was the next logical step in our partnership with Alfresco and we look forward to extending the benefits of this partnership to our customers.”
